  1. to attach an appliance correctly
    Example The surgeons fitted the artificial hand to the patient’s arm or fitted the patient with an artificial hand.
  2. to provide a piece of equipment for someone to wear
    Example She was fitted with temporary support.
  3. to have convulsions
    Example The patient has fitted twice.
