- a scale of temperatures where the freezing and boiling points of water are 32° and 212° under standard atmospheric pressure(Note Used in the US, but less common in the UK Usually written as an F after the degree sign: 32° F (say: ‘thirty-two degrees Fahrenheit’).)
COMMENT To convert degrees Fahrenheit into degrees Celsius, subtract 32 and divide the remainder by 1.8.
